Airborne pays $23.3 million to Victoria Knight-McDowell
The company has settled on a $23.3 million lawsuit for false advertising.Victoria Knight-McDowell and the makers of Airborne, have settled a $23.3 million lawsuit, which included false advertising charges against the renowned company. Knight-McDowell stated, "We called it Airborne because it combats the airborne germs and viruses that are all around in places like classrooms, offices and airplanes, " Knight-McDowell added, "When we started producing Airborne commercially, I thought it could become a successful product for people who want a natural way to boost their immune system. But I had no idea it would take off the way it has." Now she is paying for it. Airborne, which is alleged to fight off the common cold and give ones immune system a fighting chance against germs and viruses. However, the product has been obviously found not to work. The Airbourne company has willingly agreed to pay out affected refunds to people who sent in claims, whether they have proof of purchase or not. According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest stated that Airborne was nothing more than an "overpriced vitamin."
