Barack Obama met directly with Hillary Clinton in Washington in talks on how to rally Democratic supporters.

Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama dismissed all rumors that Hillary Clinton will be appointed as Vice Presidential candidate. Some prominent supporters of Clinton launched a campaign to pressure Obama to invite her to be his running mate for Vice President.

Barack Obama's communication director, Robert Gibbs, said the two candidates had a productive discussion about the important work that needs to be done for Democrats to succeed in November.

"Senator Obama and Senator Clinton did have occasion to meet this evening. It's the end of the primary process and they wanted to talk about bringing these campaigns together in unity and bringing this party together as we go forward in the fall," Gibbs said.

New York Senator Charles Schumer told ABC's "Good Morning America" that Clinton would be the vice presidential nominee if Obama felt it was best for the ticket.

Advisers say Hillary Rodham Clinton is likely to seek help from Barack Obama in paying off her campaign's massive debt.

The former first lady plans to bow out of the race and throw her support to Obama tomorrow. Nevertheless, her campaign still owes more than $30 million, including $11 million Clinton lent the effort herself.

Clinton has told donors and her fundraising team she will raise cash for Obama's campaign. Her advisers estimate the New York senator could bring in 50 to $100 million for the general election. Moreover, they say she could collect much more if she was named Obama's running mate.
