Tropical Storm Fay is once again pounding the coast of Florida. The storm dumped nearly 30 inches of rain in southern Brevard County, Florida.

Tropical Storm Fay has made its second landfall in the state of Florida as of 2 AM Thursday morning. The storm is once again pounding the coast causing mass flooding in various counties.

Hundreds of homes are flooded with water while emergency teams in airboats try to rescue people.

"We're getting beat on and beat on and beat on. It's still over us," said Deputy Jeff Luther, a spokesman for the emergency operations center and the sheriff's office in Indian River County, just south of Brevard.

Fay moved through the Caribbean early in the week killing more than 50 people. The storm then entered Florida where it stalled for several hours near Brevard county late Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, the storm moved through Melbourne, Florida where it made landfall again early Thursday morning.

The storm is traveling across Florida in a west to northwest direction at 5 mph. Wind gusts are 60 mph.
