Amy Winehouse, whose battle against drug addiction has overshadowed her recording successes, was taken to the hospital late Monday after feeling ill at her home.

Singer Amy Winehouse was released discharged from the hospital after receiving overnight treatment.

Amy Winehouse was released from a hospital Tuesday after receiving treatment overnight for a reaction to her medication.

"Amy Winehouse was admitted to University College Hospital last night. Our doctors decided to keep her overnight for observation," a spokeswoman for the London hospital said. "She had a comfortable night and was discharged today."

Winehouse, 24, whose battle against drug addiction has overshadowed her recording successes, was taken to the hospital late Monday after feeling ill.

More recently, Winehouse was rushed to a hospital after she fainted at her home in London. Afterwards, her father confirmed that she was suffering from the lung condition emphysema and had been warned by doctors that she would die if she continued smoking drugs.

Meanwhile, her representatives played down the severity of the diagnosis, although a spokesman has confirmed that Winehouse had a "touch of" emphysema.

Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil was also jailed recently after pleading guilty to beating up a pub landlord in 2006 and conspiring to cover up the crime.
